Kids Voting Central Ohio Youth Council Visits General Assembly
Kids Voting Central Ohio has a Youth Council that meets monthly during the school year. Composed of high school students from various member high schools, the Youth Council advises Kids Voting staff on programs and interacts with elected officials from the Kids Voting Honorary Board of Elected Officials.
On January 19th, the Youth Council met with members of the Ohio General Assembly and went on a quick tour of the Ohio Statehouse. State Representatives Ted Celeste, Mike Duffey, Michael Stinziano, Nancy Garland, and State Senator Charleta Tavares shared legislative priorities, personal backgrounds and political insights with the students and answered student questions about the state budget, funding for higher education and election laws.
