On February 12th, 2012, Bucks County teens had a question answer session with Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick that lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. The session was held at Pennridge High School and streamed by video so students at other districts could also participate. Seniors Elise Nonnenman and Justin Discigil moderated the event. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit was a sponsor as well.
Students asked the Congressman 19 questions ranging in topic from the cost of college, military, Middle East, alternative energy and the negativity in Washington.
“It exceeded my expectations,” said Richard Coe, executive director of Kids Voting Southeast Pennsylvania. “The Congressman was thoughtful and his responses were directed at the young peoples’ level. This was certainly nonpartisan.”
