PRIVACY STATEMENT

This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for Kids Voting USA, a project of the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education (AZ Bar Foundation).

Information Collection and Use

The AZ Bar Foundation, the agency where the Kids Voting USA program resides, is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Kids Voting USA collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site. Any personal information gathered is voluntarily submitted and will only be disclosed with prior individual consent. Registration

In order to use some features of this Web site, a user may first be required to complete a registration form. During such registration a user is required to give his or her contact information. This information is used to assure proper use of the restricted resources, to contact the user about the topics on our site for which he or she has expressed interest and for the user to receive a lost password. 

Privacy of Children

AZ Bar Foundation is committed to protecting the online privacy of children and making the Internet safe for all of our visitors. For this reason, AZ Bar Foundation does not collect personal information from children under 13. We encourage parents of children under 13 to regularly check and monitor their children's use of e-mail and other activities online and to consider using parental control tools available from online service providers and software manufacturers. These tools may be used to prevent children from disclosing their name, address, and other personal information online.

Cookies

Kids Voting USA uses cookies to remember if a user has previously logged in while he/she is on our site. This allows Kids Voting USA users to avoid logging in multiple times, thereby saving time. Users have the option of disabling or not accepting cookies by changing the preferences on their browsers*. If a user opts not to enable cookies, he/she will still be able to use our Web site, however, he/she might not be able to use the areas of the site that require cookies. No personally identifiable information (email address, name, etc.) is collected with the cookies that we set, and accepting cookies while on the Kids Voting USA site will not put the user at risk for marketing to other sites.

Web Statistics

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use for reporting and sponsorship purposes. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Information from our visitors is collected via web access logs, scripting languages, email, and html forms. Information collected may include log generated statistics and computer configuration, such as your operating system type, browser type, etc. Information collected is used for reporting statistics, business improvement, account maintenance, and web site improvement.

Sharing

We reserve the right share aggregated demographic information with our partners, sponsors, and donors. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We share this information so that we can demonstrate site activity to secure funding to continue providing this site free of charge.

AZ Bar Foundation reserves the right to use or disclose any information with your permission or in special circumstances, such as when such disclosure is believed to be necessary to comply the law or regulations, to protect the integrity of the Site, to fulfill your requests, to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or an investigation on a matter of public safety, or to respond to claims that any files or data violate the rights of third parties, or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of AZ Bar Foundation, its users, or the public. For example, AZ Bar Foundation will make such disclosures necessary under the reporting procedures of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Security

This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' stored information, and we have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.

Surveys

From time-to-time our site may request information from users via Web surveys. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include demographic information (such as zip code, age level), but no information that can identify any individual person will be collected. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Updates

We may also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with users to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code or email address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update, or remove that user's personal data provided to us. Users can use the "Edit My Profile" link from the top menu after login. 

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our home page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, that we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

Your access to and use of this Site is subject to these privacy terms, to the current Terms of Use available on this Site, and to all applicable laws. Such access and use indicates that you fully accept, without reservation, these terms and conditions. From time to time, it may be necessary for the AZ Bar Foundation to revise this Privacy Policy, so we suggest that you check here periodically as you are bound by such revisions.
